Prosper the Work of Our Hands, O Lord

As Carmelites, we receive prayer requests all the time. And that is what we are here for. We are called to be love in the heart of the Church, and that love is the perfect answer to every prayer.

But today we’d like to send out a prayer request of our own. In about 9 hours, we will begin our gala dinner in celebration of Santa Teresita’s 80th Jubilee. We have been working hard for over a year preparing, and in the past couple of weeks, there have been many late nights and early mornings trying to get everything done.

The theme for tonight is “Viva! Santa Teresita!” With our Hispanic heritage, it really fits with what is happening in our health care service. In caring for the family, we are all about life. We’ve been doing this for the past eight decades, and we are continuing the mission into the future. While today’s event is a fundraiser, it is more importantly a celebration of the life that radiates out from Santa Teresita to the families we serve.

So please pray that God will indeed prosper the work of our hands, as we heard in the Responsorial Psalm this morning at Mass. May this evening’s celebration bring new life to each individual who attends and to their families. May the funds raised be for the glory of God and further the work He has entrusted to us. May the life we share be blessed abundantly and draw many souls into the fullness of life.

Viva! Santa Teresita!

  1. Dear Sisters: You have been in my prayers so deeply and I know your “Viva” celebration was a success! It has to be, because you Carmelite Sisters know how to do things well and because, everything you do is directed toward His will and His desires and His honor and glory. And your blog is such an inspiration to me. I visualize your trips to LAX (one of my least favorite destinations to greet people)and your enthusiasm for any project you undertake. You do it with joy and trust and faith that God is truly directing you and will bring your projects to a conclusion that meets with His desires. I stand in awe of you and sit quietly in the shadows as I follow your lead and your inspiration and the impact you are making in the lives of anyone privileged enough to know you or to cross paths with you. Your talents, as a Community, are endless! God Bless and protect and guard you as you continue to follow His will and to make a difference in the lives of people such as myself. Sincerely…BG
